The practice
Conditions we treat
Leg pain has two common causes and they are treated in opposite directions, so the first job is always the same: work out which one you actually have.
Pain management
Pain we treat without surgery
Assessed by a physician board-certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation — the specialty built around restoring function rather than operating.
Back Pain
Lower or upper back pain that has not resolved on its own, assessed and treated without surgery by a physician trained in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Read more →Sciatica
Pain that travels from the lower back or buttock down the back of the leg, often with pins and needles. A symptom of nerve irritation, and the cause is what determines treatment.
Read more →Neck Pain
Persistent neck pain and stiffness, including pain that refers into the shoulder, arm or head. Assessed properly before anything is injected.
Read more →Knee Pain
Knee pain from osteoarthritis, overuse or an old injury — assessed and treated without surgery, including joint injections and PRP.
Read more →Shoulder Pain
Shoulder pain from the rotator cuff, a frozen shoulder or arthritis — examined properly, then treated without surgery.
Read more →Hip Pain
Hip, groin and outer-thigh pain from arthritis, bursitis or tendon problems — distinguished by examination, then treated without surgery.
Read more →Arthritis
Joint pain, stiffness and swelling from osteoarthritis — managed actively rather than waited out, without surgery.
Read more →Tendonitis
Tendon pain from overuse or repetitive strain — elbow, Achilles, knee, shoulder or hip — treated with loading, targeted injections and PRP where appropriate.
Read more →Chronic Migraines
Frequent, disabling headaches — including chronic migraine treated preventively with Botox, and headaches that are actually coming from the neck.
Read more →TMJ / Jaw Pain
Jaw pain, clicking, facial tension and headaches from temporomandibular joint disorder — treated without surgery.

Vein conditions we treat
Every leg mapped with duplex ultrasound before anything is treated, because the vein you can see is usually not the cause.
Varicose Veins
Rope-like veins that bulge above the skin and make legs ache, throb and feel heavy by the end of the day. Usually a valve problem, and usually treatable in the office.
Read more →Spider Veins
Fine red, blue or purple lines just under the skin, most often on the thighs, calves and ankles. Usually treated with sclerotherapy in short sessions.
Read more →Chronic Venous Insufficiency
Legs that swell, ache and change colour because the veins can no longer move blood upward efficiently. Progressive, and far easier to treat early than late.
Read more →Venous Reflux Disease
The underlying fault behind most vein problems: valves that no longer close, so blood falls back down the leg instead of returning to the heart.
Read more →Venous Ulcers
An open sore, usually just above the ankle, that will not heal because the venous pressure causing it has never been treated.

A consultation is a conversation and an examination, not a sales appointment. Dr. D’Alessio will tell you what she thinks is causing it, what can be done about it, and — when that is the honest answer — that you do not need a procedure.
